Long wait and not so great service We took my son here to celebrate his first birthday as a family, Expecting it would be great entertainment for him and his first time. It took 30 minutes to sit in the lobby until we got seated, even with a reservation. After we were seated with a table of others rep proceeded to wait another hour and a half until the chef came out. Had I known it would’ve been two hours till we actually ate I would’ve chose a different place. Once the chef arrived at our table, There was a little to no energy. You could tell that the chef was really over it for the evening. It truly didn’t feel like much of a hibachi experience at all. Just someone Casually cooking in front of you for $40 a dish. Nonetheless, the food was good, but it felt like it defeated the purpose of specifically going to a hibachi restaurant. I would not come here again, nor would I recommend anyone to.

We arrived at 6:30pm on a Sunday night. Right now is 7:55pm and we are still sitting and waiting to eat. First, we waited in a hall for at least half an hour, and now we are waiting for a chef. Will not come back just for this reason. Hibachi Japan must understand that we have options, and they are not the only place to eat in the area.

I tried to like this place after a second attempt (first time the food was terrible and was comped a $200 gift card). It seems like this place is either in financial hotwater or the owner/operator is just really inept at running there business in a way that's enticing for people to WANT to return; because after this second experience, you couldn't pay me to eat here again. Walking in during the middle of the summer, you can instantly feel a layer of heat transcending the already muggy conditions 2 feet outside of the door...during my last visit in the winter months this was also an issue but in reverse. Are you folks against running your AC/Heat during periods that just make sense in an attempt to save a buck? Moving on to the food: Soup/Salad - soup was wayyy too salty to even ingest passed the first few slurps, this definitely needs to be corrected. The salad dressing is some kind of vinegarette that differs from most traditional dressings commonly served at comparable establishments; it was okay but I much prefer the standard Makoto ginger dressing from everywhere else "Fried Rice" - I just cannot fathom why you would serve this bland concoction to anybody. Came here for dinner along with some friends to celebrate a hibachi birthday party! For the start of our visit, the wait time for our table took pretty long, but the rest was worth it! Our group was led to the table, where the server came out with tasty soup and salad appetizers and helpfully explained how the experience would go. Our chef was friendly and entertaining, and we loved watching our food being cooked with some energetic fire! The food tasted good, cooked fresh and served at generous portions. (Enjoyed the shrimp hibachi!) We even had the "catch the shrimp challenge", where the chef would use a spatula for us to mouth-catch shrimps! The atmosphere was nice, spacious, and clean (However, the restroom could use some attention). Overall a fun and enjoyable experience!

We go here on special occasions and tonight was no different. We went out to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday! We were asked what we were celebrating and we told the waitress. Once the chef came we weren’t asked again and no celebration or anything was done. Once the chef was done with his cooking to go boxes were brought out to our table. These weren’t requests from anyone either. Then the waitress brought our sorbets out and a plate that said happy birthday and sat it in front my husband but told him we don’t have any cupcakes.? The experience was rushed and just wasn’t great service. Our waitress even dropped all the plates and the bar tender came and cleaned it up. For what I paid for dinner you would think service would have been better. Sadly this will probably have us not return. We were a party of 6 might I add.
